Coahuila reaffirms its leading position in the supplier of electric cars with the announcement of a new investment of 350 million dollars, from the Chinese company Xusheng.

The new plant will be installed in the Alianza Derramadero Industrial Park and will be dedicated to the production of aluminum auto parts for the lightening of new energy vehicles such as electric cars. Xusheng aluminum alloys support systems such as transmissions, electric vehicle batteries, and suspension systems.

The company manages three processes, die casting, forging and extrusion, which cover the needs of OEMs and Tier 1 to produce powertrain, chassis and battery systems and are some of the processes most sought after by purchasing companies in the automotive sector in Mexico, according to Automotive Directory.

Xusheng is a supplier to Tesla, CATL, ZF Group, Bosch, JAC, Eaton, Stellantis, Magna, Rivian, Lucid Motors, Flex, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Polaris, among other OEMs and Tier 1.

The governor of the entity, Miguel Riquelme, thanked the decision of the Xusheng managers and recalled that this company is the 33rd investment project announced so far in 2023, being one of the largest investment amounts announced.

In recent months, Coahuila has presented indicators positioned at the national level with a permanent trend, and that the Automotive Cluster has been strengthened with this company.

In his speech, XuDong Xu, founder of Xusheng, informed that his company is a world leader in the development of components for the electric vehicle industry. He thanked the support of the State Government and said he was confident that his new plant in Saltillo writes a new chapter of success.

For his part, Claudio Bres Garza, State Secretary of Economy, reported that four new investments in the entity are being announced this week. The Xusheng Mexico project sets a precedent not only for Saltillo and the Southeast Region, but for Coahuila in general.
