The north of the capital: an attractive area for new industrial developments
Solili | February 11, 2021 |

Although during the year there was a stagnation in the construction of industrial spaces in the Valley of Mexico, for the last quarter of the year the beginning of the construction of 150 thousand square meters is reported, being the northern area where more developers expand or modify their inventories to meet demand.

In the short term, it is expected that the development and growth of new industrial zones will reach municipalities such as Zumpango and Huehuetoca, in the State of Mexico - where there is still land - and thus investment and infrastructure plans will be triggered.

Also, Tultitlán and Tepotzotlán are some corridors that have registered construction in the last quarter of 2020 and it is expected that more projects will be developed in that area in the future.

However, the implementation of a new round of restrictions on commercial activities in the metropolitan area of Mexico City due to the increase in COVID-19 infections, may lead to the delay of projects and the start of new ones.

The effects of the health emergency in the country due to the coronavirus still persist in the capital's real estate market, which has caused availability levels to show an increase in the fourth quarter of 2020.
