In order to promote the use of clean energy and reduce the carbon footprint, the government of Querétaro announced the signing of the Strategic Alliance for Distributed Generation of 125 MG, with which it seeks to energize more than 80,000 homes with solar panels. solar in the entity.

With the signing of this agreement, the State Energy Agency and the Canadian company Solfium hope to achieve "distributed generation with solar panels of 125 megawatts, equivalent to more than 230,000 panels," according to official sources.

It is expected to achieve a reduction of more than 1.85 million tons of CO2, which is equivalent to planting more than 5.5 million trees.

The state governor, Mauricio Kuri González, was in charge of announcing the signing of the alliance through his Twitter account, where he reiterated the entity's commitment to generate renewable energy and reduce its carbon footprint.

During the event, he explained that with the contribution of Solfium, a fund for social projects can be created, which will be in charge of the State Energy Agency of Querétaro.

In addition to this, the company will also promote economic and social development in the entity, since in addition to job creation, it will install its operational headquarters for Latin America, a training center for solar installers nationwide, one more for engineering and development and another customer service in the state.

These projects are expected to generate 400 direct and 500 indirect jobs.

In this regard, the co-founder and general director of Solfium, Andrés Friedman Fernández, pointed out that with this type of work it is possible to accelerate the transition towards sustainability by offering a simple way to adopt solar energy and reduce the carbon footprint while saving money.

“With this alliance we want to promote solar energy in the state of Querétaro, through our inclusive, digital and technological model that facilitates the adoption of solar energy for homes, businesses and large companies and industries,” he mentioned.
