Querétaro closes 2022 with an investment of 1,565 million dollars from the automotive sector

During the fourth quarter of 2022, there were 62 announcements of new investment projects in the automotive sector in the country from 17 countries, as reported by the Automotive Directory in the document Automotive Investment 4Q 2022. 28 were new investments, 33 expansions and one more was of an acquisition.

The firm's Business Intelligence area indicates that the 5 states that will benefit most from investments related to the automotive sector throughout 2022 are Guanajuato with 52 projects, Coahuila with 31, Nuevo León with 28, Querétaro with 27 y San Luis Potosí with 12 investments.

In the case of Querétaro, the investments in the fourth quarter of 2022 come from countries such as Japan, Germany, Spain, France and Turkey. One of them was that of Bridgestone for the production of tires for light and heavy vehicles on a 40,000 m2 piece of land.

Sumitomo Riko invested 18.8 million dollars in the expansion of its operations to increase its production of automotive anti-vibration rubber in a 10,000 m2 piece of land. The Turkish company Kros Automotive invested 4 million dollars to produce vacuum tubes and ventilation lines in an area of 3,800 m2. From Europe, the Spanish company Delta Tecnic, the French firm Michelin and the German company Kostal, participated in the 2022 investments in this Bajío market.

Mexican investments were not far behind, since Grupo TSN also invested 25.8 million dollars for thermoforming processes, transformations of light vehicles.

For these and other investments to be possible, industrial parks with adequate infrastructure are necessary to sustain production, which is why Grupo Realix Estates invested 81 million dollars for a new industrial park in the state during 4Q 2022.
