Econohábitat | October 02, 2026 |

ProximityParks will invest 600 million pesos to convert a former furniture factory in Iztapalapa into ProximityParks Iztapalapa III. Spanning over 24,000 square meters, this last-mile logistics industrial park aims to bring logistics and e-commerce companies closer to consumers in the eastern part of Mexico City.

The project is being developed on a site that operated as an office furniture factory for over four decades but had sat abandoned after ceasing operations. According to ProximityParks, the property had become a source of social risk, vandalism, crime, and visual blight for the surrounding community.

ProximityParks noted that the infrastructure for electric mobility will facilitate the transition to electric fleets for companies operating within the park. The development and operation of the park, the company added, will generate more than 800 direct jobs in Iztapalapa.
