From its conception, the trust is a contract through which goods or rights are contributed that could be real estate, resources, movable, rights, among others to be used for certain purposes agreed by the parties, in which a fiduciary institution receives those assets and executes the purposes adhering solely and exclusively to what was agreed in the trust.
Under the national magnifying glass, Mexico is one of the most important players in the matter of trusts, since only in managed assets, it occupies the first place in Latin America.
On the other hand, for the second half of 2021, due to the good performance of the portfolio and the trust business observed in the first quarter of this year (1Q21), due to the pandemic, several clients have stopped postponing investment projects, projects real estate, trusts, educational funds for children and grandchildren.

Since it is necessary to have a portfolio that offers fiscal efficiency, and estate planning schemes for testamentary purposes, in the same way, other schemes are being observed, such as stock trusts, where company succession rules are set for a second or third generation.
Given this, Ernesto Fragoso Montaño, Corporate Trustee and Patrimonial Banking Director of Banco Inmobiliario Mexicano (BIM), highlights the challenges we face when investing in these vehicles.
"There are instruments that can be a balm for damaged sectors, from my trench I can refer to the financial field, especially trusts, which have great advantages and we must take advantage of them," he said.
As data, BIM currently has in its portfolio more than 33 billion pesos of assets managed in trusts, which positions it among the 20 most important trust banks in the country.
