The president also recalled the upcoming America's Mobility of the FUTURE event in Monterrey, on June 6 and 7, in collaboration with the Italian German Exhibition Group, being the first time it will be held in Latin America.
García Sepúlveda will continue with his tour of South Korea and Taiwan in search of new investments for Nuevo León this week. The president pointed out that one of the main objectives is to move from the traditional industry to the industry of the future, and thanked Eui Chul Jeon, president of KIA's Strategic Business Planning for choosing Nuevo León for its growth.
Let us remember that, in September 2022, KIA announced an investment of 408 million dollars in Pesquería to build five new industrial warehouses that will generate 800 direct jobs. By then, 67 million dollars had already been exercised and it is expected that the total amount will be executed during this year and until 2024.

Accumulated investment in the complex amounts to 3 billion dollars, and it currently has an installed capacity for 400,000 vehicles, making it the second largest assembly plant in the country by production capacity. In seven years, it has produced more than 1.68 million vehicles and from January to April 2023 it has added 83 thousand units produced.
In addition, several of the 12 KIA suppliers installed on site, that is, around the assembly plant directly in Pesquería, are currently working on expansions of their plants or on the construction of new industrial buildings.
