
As a result of the work groups carried out by authorities and businessmen in the sector in Guadalajara, at the end of 2023, 343 thousand square meters (m2) of infrastructure are being developed, and starting in 2024 it is projected to develop another 500 thousand m2 per year.
With these two quantities we would be almost a million square meters, according to the president of the Association of Industrial Parks of the State of Jalisco (APIEJ), Bruno Martínez Zurita, comments to El Economista.

¨The demand for industrial spaces has not decreased; However, I believe that the very strong wave is going to come in 2025 and it has to do with the electoral issue not only in Mexico but in the United States, which I believe is the one that is going to mark a watershed in the sense of how The United States is going to be redirected in the next four years,” explained the industrialist.
The president of APIEJ explained that territorial areas that may have an industrial vocation are being identified, which are being included in the Metropolitan Territorial Planning Plan (POTMET) so that starting next year more land can be generated for industrial development.
He explained that the objective is to designate strategic industrial spaces and provide them with services, housing and mobility to avoid an imbalance in these areas.
The APIEJ is currently working in coordination with the Competitiveness and Economic Development Commission of the local Congress, in the development of a bill that standardizes municipal procedures and licenses.

Currently, developers are working to identify the necessary basic principles that a construction license must have so that, through the Legislative Branch, a specific chapter for industrial parks is prepared and that the procedures are the same in all municipalities.
APIEJ also works with credit institutions to generate innovative financial products that allow developers to have the necessary capital.
