Construction begins on 820,000 m² of industrial space in Mexico during the first quarter of the year

Construction activity nationwide saw the start of 820,000 square meters between January and March, distributed across 42 new industrial developments.

Infrastructure investment occurred within a context of greater caution on the part of industrial developers, reflected in a 44% contraction in the volume of projects started compared to the same period in 2025.

In terms of the distribution of construction starts, Ciudad de México stands out as the market with the highest concentration of surface area, accounting for 25% of the national total. However, this volume is distributed across just four buildings, demonstrating a clear trend toward large-scale developments.

Similarly, the Guadalajara market accounted for 18% of new developments, while Guanajuato maintained a 15% share of projects initiated between January and March.
