
The logistics operator of French origin, Geodis, has targeted Mexico to trigger an ambitious investment plan of 22 million dollars to expand its infrastructure in the country. With this, it foresees the opening of two distribution centers with which it will expand its storage area in the Mexican territory to reach almost 200 thousand square meters, offering its services to clients focused on retail.

One of these distribution centers was inaugurated this Wednesday. Located in the municipality of Tepotzotlán, State of Mexico, it has a warehouse area of 13,500 m2 and where 3 million dollars were invested. The space is occupied by the companies Steve Madden, a shoe producer, and ACE Hardware, a chain of hardware stores, both of American origin.
"This distribution center will help us support our growth in the next six years," Jaime González, head of Steve Madden's Finance and Comptroller area, told T21.
The second Geodis distribution center has larger dimensions where most of the investment will be allocated. It is planned to have 40,000 m2 of warehouse space. Its opening is expected for the first quarter of next year and it will also be located in Tultitlán, State of Mexico.

With this new logistics infrastructure, the French firm will add eight warehouses in Mexico, seven of them specifically in the State of Mexico, where a large part of the warehouses that serve the distribution activities of companies that focus both on the capital city and its metropolitan area, as well as other states in the center of the country.
