Faurecia adds a new 33,500 m2 plant in Nuevo León

Faurecia, a Grupo Fovia company, increases its operational capacity in America with the opening of a new state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Apodaca, Nuevo León, Mexico.

The 33,500-square-meter plant will manufacture car seat frames, instrument panels and center consoles, aligned with industry mega trends in sustainability and use of lightweight materials.

The new facilities have bioclimatic principles to optimize energy efficiency, which will boost the Group's commitment to achieve carbon neutrality by 2045.

Nik Endrud, Executive Vice President of the Americas, Grupo Forvia indicated that the new plant positions them as a company that offers exceptional value to customers and reaffirms leadership in technology to improve the mobility experience for people.

In addition to capitalizing on proximity to the client, the Group has established agreements with several local universities to provide professional internship opportunities within the company.

They include the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Studies; the Technological Institute of Nuevo León, the University of Monterrey, the Inter-American University for Development Campus Monterrey, the TecMilenio University, the Regiomontana University and the University of the Valley of Mexico.

The academic institutions of the Monterrey region provide a workforce that is trained and ready to face future mobility challenges,” said Francisco Maciel, Country Leader and CFO of Faurecia Mexico.

The Group currently employs 19 thousand people in 32 sites in Mexico. The Mexico corporation is located in Puebla and the headquarters for the Americas region are located in Auburn Hills, Michigan, USA.
