EXFO, a developer of testing, monitoring and analysis equipment and software for fixed and mobile network operators, invests 150 million pesos in a new production plant in Querétaro.

At a press conference, David Prosser, general manager of products at EXFO Inc, reported that the opening of this location, which is being built in the Querétaro Industrial Park, is scheduled for December this year.

The company, originally from the province of Quebec, Canada, has a history of 35 years and employs nearly 2,000 workers in more than 25 countries, so settling in Querétaro, he said, was a very wise decision, because the benefits it offers are tailored to the needs of the company. The plant will join EXFO's plants in the UK, China and Taiwan.

Once it is operational, the site will generate up to 200 new jobs, 60 of them for highly specialized engineers. The company hopes to finalize its hiring process for the month of September.

For his part, Marco Antonio del Prete Tercero, head of the Secretariat for Sustainable Development (Sedesu) in the state, mentioned that Canada is one of the main commercial partners of the entity.

For this reason, he thanked Lucie Lecours, Quebec's Delegate Minister of Economy, present at the press conference, for the trust placed in Querétaro as an investment destination that is already outlining the 32 projects completed in 2021 in 2022.

These investments made in less than six months represent the generation of almost 7,000 new potential jobs, as well as 11,328 million pesos of investment”, he shared.

He also reported that, from January to April of this year, the electronic sector of Querétaro has produced almost 4,000 million pesos, which represents an increase of 5.6% compared to the same period in 2021.
