The data centers that will arrive in the state of Querétaro will be accelerators of the information technology sector, and will position the state as a global communications hub, said the president of Vórtice IT Clúster Querétaro, Jorge Alfredo Buitrón Arriola.

He explained that a data center works the same as an assembly plant for the automotive sector, due to the development it generates in its environment, not only in providers of various services but also for the demand of specialized personnel.

He stressed that this industry will require services such as water, electricity and infrastructure, which must be provided by the government.

"It is an important driver because first it has demand for infrastructure, they will require significant electricity, it will require water for cooling schemes, and daily management requires specialized people," he mentioned.

He pointed out that among the sector's requirements are personnel for cybersecurity, network maintenance, communications and software, which is an opportunity for the sector.

He specified that currently the sector grows 10% each year, and with the arrival of this infrastructure the growth of the information technology sector will double, which will also impact other areas of the state's economy.

It should be noted that the Secretary of Sustainable Development, Marco del Prete Tercero, has indicated that there will be 18 data centers that will arrive in the state in the coming years, for which reason the entity has positioned itself as a competitive place for its arrival. The state official has stated that the entity has more than five fiber optic rings, an environment of physical, labor, and patrimonial security so that companies can be installed; In addition, the state government works so that there is a favorable environment for the arrival of more companies in that sector.

"In the state we promote the creation of companies, we know that data centers generate a lot of industry, from construction, installation, maintenance, equipment and operation, the great interest that they come to Querétaro is to generate an internal market, since these sectors add value to the economy.
