
Worthington Industries Inc., a leading industrial manufacturing company announces the expansion of its Tempel Steel plant in Apodaca, Nuevo León.
Tempel will redesign existing shop floor space and relocate some manufacturing operations to an adjacent 185,000-square-foot building.

This expansion, estimated for 2024, will become Tempel's largest manufacturing plant for the electric vehicle motors and transformers market.
“The acquisition of Tempel in 2021 helped Worthington become a leader in the growing electrical steel market that includes transformers, motorized machines, and electric vehicle motors,” said Geoff Gilmore, chief operating officer of Worthington Industries, who He added that the expansion of the plant in Apodaca demonstrates the commitment to the Mexican market and to Tempel employees.
The increase in production capacity will allow Tempel to leverage the experience and knowledge of the Apodaca community, which includes more than 500 members of the workforce of the current Tempel Steel plant.
