Industrial construction in Mexico lost momentum in a market where demand for space remains active; developers scaled back the pace of new projects and the amount of space under construction during July and August, even as occupancy activity continued to show positive growth.

During July and August, the total area under construction fell by 20% year-over-year to 3.7 million square meters, while new project starts dropped by 32% to 540,000 square meters, according to a Solili report on Mexico's industrial market.

In contrast to the slower pace of industrial construction, demand for industrial properties in Mexico totaled 945,000 square meters during July and August—an indicator of market occupancy activity that represented a 7% increase compared to the same two-month period in 2025, according to Solili.
