Brembo doubles space and productive capacity with an investment of 207 million dollars

Brembo, leader in the design and production of high-performance braking systems, announced the expansion of its plant located in the GP Escobedo industrial park, where it is investing 207 million dollars, with which it expects to double the production capacity of calipers to six million of pieces.

The CEO of Brembo in North America, Stéphane Rolland, commented, "we are going to double the capacity of the plant with this investment", and even when there is automation of some processes, the machines are operated by technicians.

During the inauguration, he noted that "the expansion of the Escobedo plant greatly increases Brembo's ability to serve our North American customers.

According to a company bulletin, "Now fully operational, Escobedo's 30,000-square-meter expansion doubles production of aluminum calipers, from casting to fabrication and assembly, creating 500 new jobs until 2027, in this process". To date, they have 1,500 jobs at the Escobedo plant.

The Italian company expanded from a joint venture in Puebla in 1996, to the acquisition of Hayes-Lemmerz's brake component operations in 2007. Today Brembo independently operates three facilities in Mexico: the Escobedo caliper plant, the Escobedo cast iron foundry and the disc machining plant in Apodaca.
