After this opening, the company will generate 500 jobs for the entity in its initial stage.

This is the eleventh Amazon shipping center in Mexico, its facilities cover 30 thousand square meters. Around him are the foreign companies Michelin, Iriso Electronics, Minamida, Samtch, Atzumi and Senko.

It has been mentioned that once Amazon's shipping center reaches full capacity it could employ up to a thousand workers. It is worth mentioning that since May of this year the company began to carry out testing activities.

Diego Mendez de la Luz, general director of Amazon operations in Mexico, highlighted the investment made in the state of Guanajuato, with which it seeks to generate jobs, develop suppliers and support MSMEs in the state and the country.

“With this new center, people will be able to order their items and receive them on the same day. We are going to start with the city of León and expand to three other cities that we will reveal little by little,” said Diego Mendez.

The arrival of Amazon would speed up the economy of Guanajuato, since it comes after the economic havoc left by the pandemic.

The different authorities and businessmen present at the inauguration highlighted that the sale of products online has skyrocketed with the new normality.
