Offices: new normal or new unemployment?

To understand the crisis in the office market in Mexico City, mainly, we must start from the fact of the dramatic drop in occupation. According to the real estate firm Solili, the corporate market of the capital of the country reported only last May a gross demand of 12,082 m², which represents its lowest level in 4 years, which compared to the same month of 2019, is registered a contraction of 82%.

Solili added that its behavior in the critical part of the pandemic made the net demand of the Mexico City market turn out to be negative, reporting a figure that reaches 7,500 m². Among the corridors that showed the highest volumes of fall are Santa Fe, Bosques, Insurgentes and Reforma in the Class A category.
