Housing loans grow 9.2% in May despite crisis: BBVA

The BBVA financial group announced the behavior of the credit market for the month of May 2020, the second month with intensive social isolation (National Day of Sana Distancia) as the main characteristic of the economic and social life of the country.

BBVA found that the nominal annual growth of the balance of the current loan portfolio granted by commercial banking to housing was 9.2% (6.2% real). However, it is necessary to observe a downward trend, explained the bank, which reported that in April this growth was 9.6% and in May 2019 10.6 percent.
