Pandemic triggers house changes and remodeling

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we live and has transformed the spaces of the home, making them multifunctional. It also created new needs that forced people to move to another home.

To learn more about the effects caused by the virus, the real estate portal Inmuebles24 conducted a survey of its users, which was answered mostly by the group of generation X (41 to 55 years), the millennials (of 21 to 40 years) were the next in participation, and the remaining 30% were baby boomers (56 years and older).

Of the total number of respondents, 8% changed city of residence. 30% of the total made a change of house. Of these, 43% did it to a house or apartment with spaces.

The confinement showed for many people that it was time to remodel their home, either to make it more livable or to adapt it to the new needs that the home office and home schooling demand. This was done by 30% of those surveyed, of which 14% fixed pending details and 7% had to expand or add spaces in their home.
