ZF Group will invest 39.6 million euros to increase its advanced manufacturing in Toluca

ZF announced that it will make an investment of approximately 39.6 million euros until 2024 to expand its manufacturing capacity in Toluca, State of Mexico.

The company will establish a new production facility that is expected to create an additional 150 jobs over the next two years and will be approximately 8,000 square feet larger than the existing plant it replaces.

The manufacturing complex will feature high-capacity assembly lines for the right-in-sequence manufacturing of front and rear axles and suspension modules for electric passenger vehicles.

Construction of this plant has started and is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of 2023. The company will begin hiring new employees during the third quarter, in preparation for the start of production in the first quarter of 2024.

Dale Chon, ZF Group Vice President of Automotive Chassis Technology for the North American Region, commented that as the automotive industry evolves to become more electrified, automated and connected, manufacturing capabilities are evolving as well, and they are very excited about establishing this new and advanced manufacturing plant in Toluca.

ZF's investment in Toluca is the latest in a series of major investments the company has made in Mexico in recent years.

In 2022, ZF invested more than 46 million euros to increase the production of control arms, stabilizer arms and tie rod ends in a different plant also in the city of Toluca.
