Walmart estimates to invest 4.7 million pesos in logistics, during 2022

Walmart México (Walmex) announced on Tuesday its investment program for 2022 that adds up to 27.6 billion pesos, an amount 35% higher compared to 2021, and of which 17% will be allocated to logistics.

Guilherme Loureiro, executive president and general director of Walmex, shared that "the investment will be focused on generating value for all", based on three priorities: earn discounts, be leaders in omnichannel and become the preferred ecosystem, according to a statement from the company.

Also, this investment will be based on four skills: customer centricity, logistics, technology and the best talent; Therefore, Walmart de México, as well as Central America, will be investing strategically in four projects.

The first of logistics for which 17% of the investment will be allocated to reinforce the company's network and thus increase growth.

The second corresponds to remodeling and maintenance of existing stores, a project that will receive approximately 40% of the investment, to increase the omnichannel capacity of existing stores and implement technology projects to improve efficiency and sustainability.

The expansion plans through new growth vehicles such as Mi Bodega Urbana and Walmart Express, will concentrate 28% of the investment and of this amount close to

15% will go to eCommerce and technology projects.
