Vesta builds new Eaton plant in Ciudad Juáre

The international company Eaton, a world leader in electrical product technology that manufactures electrical transformers and electrical equipment, multiple fuses, from automotive to marine. will open a new plant in Ciudad Juárez.

The developer of warehouses and industrial parks Vesta is the one in charge of the construction that is located to the southeast of the city, on Ramón Rayón avenue and it will have the LEED Gold certification.

The announcement was made this morning at an event held in the new building located on a 256 thousand square foot lot, where José Valencia, manager of the Eaton plant in the city, pointed out that it will have high levels of automation, sophistication and design.

He stressed that the investment amounts to more than 100 million dollars and that the operation will generate 500 jobs with high added value and twice as many indirect jobs through the supply chain.

The new plant's product line is miniature electronic breakers for the main market, which is the United States, he explained.

"There are other factories in the world, but due to market demand and extraordinary growth in the industrial, residential and commercial segments, mainly in the US, it was decided to open the plant in Juárez," he said.

"We are going to build a plant that has all the Industry 4.0 solutions from the beginning, the plant will have a very high level of automation, interconnectivity between machines, sophisticated fault detection systems, among others," he added.

He indicated that to operate these new technologies, local talent will be developed and the minimum level of studies of the employees will be high school.

"It will be Eaton's industry 4.0 flagship in the world, I am flattered that Mexico and Juárez have been chosen to embark on the path of industry 4.0 in manufacturing operations," said the plant manager, José Valencia .

He added that for the new operation, products will begin to be shipped in the second quarter of 2022 and the production lines will start up in the first quarter of 2023.

The manager stressed that this project is only one of the growth that Eaton projects in Juárez.

Eaton currently has six plants on this border and employs around 4,000 workers.
