"Your House in the City", the mortgage financing program of the Housing Fund of the ISSSTE (FOVISSSTE) was a finalist in the contest "Public Policies and Inspirational Practices 2021" of the Urban Habitat and Housing Practices platform (UHPH for its acronym) in English), in which 350 initiatives from 15 Latin American and Caribbean countries participated.

The objective is to reward proposals that contribute to “making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe and resilient”, also considering the strategies against Covid-19 for a sustainable reactivation.

One of the main criteria is that the initiatives presented can be expanded, replicated or escalated to increase the impact on vulnerable communities and households, becoming models for the transformation of housing.

“Tu Casa en la Ciudad”, launched in 2019, was rated as one of the 10 best in the category “Public Policies and Inclusive Governance”, thus advancing to the last phase.

The selection of the finalists was in charge of a jury of experts from 12 countries, who comprehensively evaluated the application as a public policy of the FOVISSSTE program to trigger the use of intraurban public land, develop quality housing designs and promote the association with the private sector, among other elements.
