A new and luxurious skyscraper is approaching in Mexico City, a project that is in charge of the architect Fernando Romero and the construction company Grupo Xtra.

The Puerta Reforma Tower will be located on an estate owned by engineer Carlos Slim that measures 5,481 square meters and is located between Paseo de la Reforma, Mariano Escobedo and Melchor Ocampo streets.

Along with the Puerta Reforma Tower, the Waldorf Astoria will arrive with between 300 and 350 rooms, three enormous ballrooms with capacity for up to 600 people, a first-class restaurant, an auditorium for conferences, a cafeteria, a spa, a swimming pool and a gym.

The engineering of the Puerta Reforma Tower is designed to withstand an earthquake of up to 8.5 on the Richter scale. This will be achieved thanks to 30 seismic dampers and 35 steel and concrete piles that will be nailed to a depth of 40 meters. On the other hand, it will have 18 elevators that will move quickly at 6.6 meters per second.

These will help to cover the more than 200 thousand square meters that the tower will have. Among the multiple floors with various functions will be a viewing platform and a Sky Lobby. In addition to a parking lot with space for up to 2 thousand cars.

The construction of the skyscraper was approved by SEDUVI in 2017 and was scheduled for March 2019, however, the process has been delayed due to different factors.
