
Tesla, led by Elon Musk, has made its first significant investment in Mexico, purchasing extensive land for the construction of a gigafactory in Santa Catarina, Nuevo León.
The president of the Mexican Association of Private Industrial Parks (AMPIP), Sergio Argüelles, indicated that the electric vehicle company acquired 1,200 hectares, confirmed by the President of Mexico and that of Tesla.

The Gigafactory will implement Tesla's Unboxed Process production strategy, which seeks efficiency by building all parts of the vehicle on the same assembly line.
The Government of Nuevo León has been finalizing the agreement with Musk, with an initial investment estimated between 800 million and 1,000 million dollars. However, this could escalate to 10,000 million dollars.
