Following the successful commissioning of the hot rolling mill in mid-2021, Ternium recently announced a new investment program in Pesquería, Nuevo León, to better serve its customers in the automotive, renewable energy and home appliance industries, as well as in the construction and agricultural sectors.
With the expansion of the Pesquería plant's advanced high- and ultra-high-strength steel production capabilities, this initiative supports the company's leadership position as a steel supplier in Mexico.

The program consists of a new cold rolling mill, hot dip galvanizing line, push-pull pickling line, and new finishing lines with a total capital investment of approximately $1 billion and expected start of operations in the first half of 2024.
In 2021, Ternium inaugurated a new research and development center in Pesquería.
This new facility added new equipment and capabilities to test the performance of steel products for automotive, appliance, and other industrial customers.
The new research and development center will allow Ternium to accelerate the development of new high-end steel products to be processed in the recently inaugurated facilities in this industrial center.

The new hot rolling mill in Pesquería processes high-end steel supplied by our slab mill in Brazil, acquired in 2017, which has an annual production capacity of 5 million tons of high-end steel slabs, a port of deep water and 490 MW combined cycle power plant. Ternium's industrial center in Pesquería also sources high-end steel slabs from third parties.
