
Between the months of September, October and November, the Ministry of Economic Development of Jalisco could announce the attraction of 1.6 billion dollars of new foreign investments, announced the head of that agency, Roberto Arechederra.
At this time, the agency has 150 prospective companies that have approached state authorities to express their interest in settling in the entity. Chinese, American, United Kingdom, Spanish, and Japanese firms make up these investments; some of them already confirmed, such as Haitian Group, dedicated to machinery for the automotive sector, and Aptive, which manufactures vehicle harnesses.

The efforts that have been made through the Jalisco Tech Hub Act and all the incentive initiatives, the configuration of talent, the work carried out with the academy, are reflected in the investments that will be made for Jalisco.
Arrechedera highlighted the State Crusade for the Development of Industrial Parks and anticipated the announcement of the first company that will be installed in Jalisco as a result of the strategy to accelerate the construction process of industrial real estate complexes.

This process for a company to decide to settle in an entity can take between six months and two years, but so far in 2023, 15 new foreign firms have been established in Jalisco. These companies correspond mainly to the high-tech, automotive, manufacturing and agribusiness sectors.
To address the shortage of trained talent, the agency works in collaboration with universities and educational centers to increase academic offerings and reconfigure professional careers based on the needs demanded, mainly, by the high-tech sector.
