Stiva receives green financing for 60 million dollars from BBVA

BBVA México granted financing linked to sustainability (Sustainability Linked Loan) for a total amount of 60 million dollars to the industrial development division of the firm Stiva for a term of five years, an operation that had the second opinion of the company Rate Consultants.

In addition, the bank indicated that the indicator (KPI) of this financing is directly linked to the reduction of energy intensity from non-renewable sources per square foot operated to exercise compliance during the life of the loan.

Juan Guasco, corporate vice president of Grupo Stiva, commented that the industrial park development unit is committed to promoting sustainability performance to enhance the facilities.

The company launched a renewable energy project, with the purpose of generating clean energy and reducing electricity consumption from non-renewable sources in common areas and wastewater treatment plants by up to 50% over a period of five years.

Guasco stated that these infrastructure improvements are in addition to the United Nations Environment Program as well as the company's ESG efforts.

In line with market trends, BBVA Mexico has granted more than 68,000 million pesos in ESG financing to business clients from various sectors between 2021 and 2022.
