SIG inaugurates its first plant in Querétaro

With an investment of 73 million euros and the generation of more than 200 direct jobs, SIG inaugurated its first aseptic carton production plant in Mexico.

The latest generation factory of the Swiss company was installed in the Aerotech Industrial Park located in Colón, Querétaro, and its objective is to meet the growing demand in the markets of North America, Central America and the Caribbean.

SIG's manufacturing complex has an area of 20,751 square meters, where it will be producing 500 million carton packages in the first year, increasing to 1,200 million in 2024.

The company will initially focus on the production of medium and large size carton packs; while in the second phase it includes an expansion to small formats.

The president and general manager in the Americas for SIG, Ricardo Rodríguez, commented that with the new plant, a flexible supply with high quality standards, care for the environment and service will be ensured.
