Once the regulatory process in the T-MEC with Canada is concluded, the bridge will be part of the first integrated railway network in the region.
A second railway bridge between Nuevo Laredo, in Tamaulipas, and Laredo, in Texas, whose construction began this week, will expand and speed up trade between Mexico and the United States.
By starting operations in the second quarter of 2024, the bridge will improve the customs process, which will also be more secure, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE).

The SRE reported that the first stone was laid for the construction of the second bridge that will connect Nuevo Laredo with Texas.
And once the regulatory process in the Free Trade Agreement (T-MEC) with Canada is completed, the new infrastructure project will be part of the first integrated rail network in the region.
The binational project is headed by Kansas City Southern. Patrick J. Ottensmeyer, its president, said that this new rail bridge will meet the needs of North American commerce in the future.

Recently, the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) said that actions are being carried out to promote the development of highway infrastructure in Tamaulipas.
One is to complete the access road to the Brownsville-Matamoros International Bridge in December of this year; expansion of the Reynosa-Pharr International Bridge, whose construction will begin this month.
