Jalisco will be inserted again in the Mexican automotive industry with the installation of an assembly plant of the WTech company, which will invest 201 million dollars in the state, with the capacity to produce 1,000 vehicles and generate more than 4,000 jobs.

The head of the Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedeco), Roberto Arechederra Pacheco, pointed out that different options are still being analyzed for its location, the Jalisco Logistics Center in the municipality of Acatlán de Juárez is ahead to house the assembly plant, which will be It is expected to start operations at the end of 2023.

The president of WTech, Ramón Fernando Richard, specified that, initially, the plant will assemble military tactical vehicles of the Defenture brand, as well as foreign and urban electric buses of the Kia brand, "which will position us as important exporters to different poles of economic development in the American continent”.

The company's Director of Operations, Valente Espinoza Contreras, also added that the plant will have the capacity to produce more than a thousand vehicles in its first stage, with the highest quality standards and European specifications.

The company has the objective that at least 70% of its inputs are local or regional, so this investment project goes hand in hand with a development program for micro, small and medium-sized companies that could be inserted in the supply chain. .
