Scania México plans to expand the central warehouse that operates in Querétaro and where it supplies spare parts to the rest of the country. The warehouse that began operating in 2021 is currently at 80% of its capacity and storage capacity is expected to double, said the director of Experience and customer services for Scania Mexico, Gisela Quintero.

The warehouse has 3,500 square meters of space. Meanwhile, the expansion project is planned for 2024.

In addition to this project, he explained that they plan to establish satellite warehouses that will allow them not only to store parts, but also to reach their customers faster. From this central warehouse, the company has a stock of spare parts with which it equips after-sales service workshops and other units.

“This is the central warehouse, here we have consolidated all the storage of spare parts that we later enable to our warehouses and after-sales service workshops nationwide, this is distribution in Mexico. We have all kinds of spare parts, from a washer to a complete cabin”, he declared.

The location of the central warehouse, he added, obeys the strategic point that is Querétaro in the company's distribution system. The directive specified that up to 75% of the sites supply spare parts the next day, so one of their objectives is to reach the point of sale as soon as possible.

Of the total spare parts collected in this space, 95% are imported parts from Europe, around 4% from local supply and the remaining 1% from Brazil. Most of the demand, he added, are parts for foreign buses.

"Our rolling fleet is very strong in foreign buses, most of what we are shipping on a daily basis goes to that segment, we have a modular system, one of Scania's important flexibility is that we have spare parts that are used for buses or for trucks, we really source from here for engines, for trucks, for buses”, he pointed out.
