San Luis Potosí and the commitment to build corporate spaces
El Expres | June 20, 2022 |

San Luis Potosí has enough spaces to house the 15 business corporations that the governor, José Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, announced will come to the entity this year, said Luis Alvarado Moreno, president of the Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals (AMPI), who added spaces are already being prepared for these investments.

The businessman said that there are spaces available in buildings to the west of the city and in the Industrial Zone; He did not rule out that exclusive offices could be built, although he recognized that it would represent a greater expense for companies, because the price of a square meter of land in San Luis Potosí is very high.

Alvarado Moreno added that they still do not know what investments are involved, although they consider that their arrival is great news, since they will bring money to the state, so tax incentives should be offered at the state and federal levels so that more companies of this type bet by the entity.

The president of AMPI recognized that "cities like Querétaro have greater infrastructure than SLP for the arrival of corporate offices." However, San Luis Potosí has been improving in this area and already houses some corporations, such as Honeywell, in Plaza Citadella.

As a result of the pandemic, the rental of spaces of this type had a drop, so there is space available.

In turn, the director of Market Research for the Solili real estate brand, Pablo López Gallardo, said that San Luis Potosí still does not compete with cities like León and Querétaro to attract large corporations.

He said that this is not only because these cities have a greater real estate offer, but also because of experience.

"Corporate companies look for cities with experience, which is a disadvantage for San Luis Potosí, despite its strategic location, qualified workforce and great industrial development."

"San Luis Potosí must bet on building more spaces to house this type of investment in the medium term," said the expert.

The arrival of the 15 corporations is part of the results of the state government's strategy to diversify investments in San Luis Potosí, in addition, the Ministry of Economic Development (Sedeco) has agreed to the arrival of five international companies in the coming days, according to the state government.
