San Luis Potosí receives industrial investment from Grupo Infra

Grupo Infra inaugurated its plant in San Luis Potosí, where it will produce 700 tons of oxygen, nitrogen and argon daily, with an investment of 1,300 million pesos on five hectares where it will distribute its products and services to the entire Bajío region.

San Luis Potosí represents a very important logistics center for the country due to the accesses to connect the northern and southern states of Mexico, in addition to having good natural resources and road infrastructure, in addition to the available personnel, said Dieter Femfert, commercial director of CRYOINFRA, an Infra Group company

The new plant will have the capacity to produce medical grade oxygen under the certification standards of the automotive, aerospace, food and beverage industries.

Likewise, it will comply with the guidelines of the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris) and the ISO 9001, NOM, NFPA, ANSI, ASTM, NEC, FDA standards, in addition to being a socially responsible company.

The Federal Electricity Commission is its main supplier that provides the raw material to the plant, only at this site it is about 25 megawatts per hour to produce oxygen, nitrogen and argon that will be distributed with clients in the steel sector industry , automotive, electronic, chemical, petrochemical, food, mining, construction and companies such as Valeo, Goodyear, Grupo Minera México, GM and the Bajío region.

The coordination of the private industry and the government is necessary to continue growing, to create synergy to attract investment and to be able to contribute with their products and services, said Dieter Femfert.

He added that, by 2022, CRYOINFRA's economic growth is expected to exceed by up to three times the national average data that stipulates 1.6% for the Mexican industry.

It should be noted that, during the Covid-19 pandemic, Grupo Infra was the main supplier of oxygen to all hospitals in the country, which is why its demand increased by up to 300%.

Currently, the demand for medical grade oxygen is 15 to 20% above the pre-pandemic demand in 2019.
