Safran expands its presence in Querétaro with an investment of 80 million dollars

Safran will expand its operations in Querétaro, where it will invest 80 million dollars to expand two of its plants, thus establishing the group's seventh plant that will house an aircraft engine test bench.

The investment project plans to establish the SAESA Testcell, projected as the most innovative test bench globally, where the French firm will test aeronautical engines. Likewise, the expansion plans to incorporate 800 new specialized collaborators over the next few years,

Through the test bench, the testing capacity will be increased, allowing the rapid growth of the engine fleet, explained the CEO of Safran Aircraft Engines, Jean-Paul Alary, referring to the fact that the investment is a relevant step for the industry.

Safran's growth plans were confirmed in a meeting held by company executives with the governor of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri González, who is on a promotional tour in France during the 2023 Paris Air Show.

During the meeting, the governor explained the capabilities of the state's aerospace industry, as well as advances in educational programs, specialized maintenance centers, and the development of local suppliers to supply the industry.

Meanwhile, company executives expressed interest in continuing to collaborate with the state administration, in the development of educational programs and in projects that strengthen the competitiveness of the firm and the state.
