According to IDCA, since 2021 and during the first half of 2022, investment in the data center market increased considerably in Mexico, due to the projects of companies specialized in the category of hyperscale data centers, which could add up to approximately more than $300 million dollars.

Similarly, the authority in Data Centers details that, even though Querétaro continues to be the epicenter of international investment in Data Centers, Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara occupy an important place in the growth of the sector.

Similarly, states such as Guanajuato and Aguascalientes are beginning to position themselves as key territories for the implementation of Data Centers. Which responds to adequate weather conditions, coupled with quality and accessibility in telecommunications.

On the other hand, IDCA finds that the market is experiencing a slowdown in the implementation of on-premise data centers and the trend among companies is to migrate to private, public and hybrid cloud platforms.

The increase in interest in staff training and coaching is also a trend, since during the first half of 2022, requests in this area increased by 20% compared to the first half of 2021.

The exponential growth of the data center industry, due to the high demand for information storage and processing, faces the main challenges such as: the supply of energy for projects and the excess demand for talent specialized in engineering related to topics of data centers.
