Canada is the third commercial partner of the state of Querétaro, with an accumulated Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from 1999 to June of this year of two thousand 301 million dollars, according to data from the Ministry of Economy on its website.

During the first semester of 2022, Querétaro received 25 million dollars from Canada, of which 20.6 were during the first quarter of 2022 and 4.4 in the second quarter of this year, highlighting the importance of the presence of Canadian companies in the development of queretaro.

"As of August of this year, the Ministry of Economy reported 95 companies with capital of Canadian origin in Querétaro, which represent 2.2 percent of the national total and 5.8 percent of the total companies in the state," said the Head of the State Secretariat for Sustainable Development (SEDESU), Marco Antonio Del Prete.

He added that these Canadian companies are mainly engaged in the manufacture of plastics and automotive parts. Likewise, the head of the state Sedesu reported that Canada is the second destination with the highest exports from Querétaro, with 2.6 percent of the total and sales of 299.5 million dollars.

"The main products exported are: refrigerators, freezers, machines and apparatus for cleaning fabrics, air pumps, boards, consoles, and bases for electricity distribution, among others," he reported.

One of the companies with Canadian capital is EXO-S, which is installed in the municipality of San Juan del Río and according to Francois Ouellet, director of the plant, the growth of this company is national, however, they will begin to be exported from 2023 to the United States and Canada.

"The assemblers decided to remove some of their vehicle manufactures and the parts have to follow the path where they are going to manufacture these new vehicles, that is why we are going to move the merchandise there," said the director.
