Querétaro attracted 2,396.9 million dollars of direct foreign investment from Canada, from 1999 to 2022, placing itself at the national level as the ninth recipient of capital from this source, according to records from the Ministry of Economy (SE).

In that period, Canada positioned itself as the third largest investor in Querétaro, only below the United States and Spain. Only in 2022, the Canadian investment that arrived in the state totaled 120.9 million dollars, so the state was positioned in twelfth place, among the 32 entities.

In this way, Canada is one of the main commercial partners of Querétaro, for this reason the state has the objective of attracting more foreign investment from this country, as well as strengthening commercial ties, said the Secretary of Sustainable Development (Sedesu), Marco Antonio of the Third Prete.

In this context, companies from Canada carry out a commercial mission in the state; During a meeting with the companies, the state secretary spoke about Querétaro's potential to attract investment projects related to the aerospace, automotive, and information technology industries.

At the meeting, he affirmed that Querétaro has conditions that give certainty to the growth of the firms, as well as, he said, trained personnel. Additionally, the state can be an ally for the protected agriculture sector, being one of the few entities with an ordered territory based on its environmental vocation.

In Querétaro there are 96 companies of Canadian origin, which are mainly dedicated to the manufacture of plastics and auto parts.
