The Director of the Querétaro Energy Agency, Mauricio Reyes, commented on the energy situation of the entity and the strategy with which they work to increase infrastructure by up to 50%, at the meeting of the Querétaro Plastics Cluster.

The Plastics Cluster announced its participation in Expo Plásticos, to be held in Guadalajara, Jalisco, from March 28 to 30, 2030, where the energy situation in the state will be addressed, since Nearshoring brings industrial changes that will require more energy for the growth of the entity.

The Expo Plásticos 2023 event would show the manufacturing and production strengths of the state, as well as publicize the quality of the workforce so that others know more about Querétaro, which will bring immediate benefits and future investments. The event will also present academic content, new technologies and business meetings to make the sector more competitive.

Jorge Arizmendi, Director of Expo Plásticos 2023, commented that the plastic sector works with different clusters in the nation, economic systems and industries such as the automotive, aerospace, toys, among others, so that at the event there will be more than 100 machines showing capacity for production and molds with a capacity of up to 15 tons.

The Energy Agency of the State of Querétaro arises from the concern that the entity has regarding the lack of energy, commenting that in order to supply the companies that will arrive with the development of Nearshoring, it is necessary to have the infrastructure to connect. To accomplish this, the agency has entered into agreements that drive strong policies and bind agencies.

Querétaro will need enough energy to supply companies and data centers that are turning the entity into their point of business, so the strategy is designed for three areas of the state, Airport, El Marqués and San Juan del Río.

The challenge is to increase infrastructure by 50% in the following years, an action that no entity in Mexico has carried out, but which will be essential for economic development.

The project will start at the end of October and will provide Querétaro with a robust infrastructure by 2024, offering 10% more solar panels than it currently has, guaranteeing the conditions for the entity to continue developing industrially.
