The automotive industry is the engine of Puebla and for this year the outlook is favorable and marks an area of opportunity for investors who settle in the state to promote innovation and development in this sector.

According to the Automotive Cluster of the Central Zone (Clauz), which also involves the state of Tlaxcala, this 2021 a 12 percent growth in vehicle assembly is projected.

According to Inegi data, vehicle production represented a total of 57,724 units in October 2020, the highest volume reported for Puebla in the last twelve months, while exports totaled 48,830 units.

Vehicle production in October 2020 rose 12.1 percent compared to the same period last year, when the automakers Audi and Volkswagen based in the state of Puebla, manufactured 51,478 vehicles.

According to the Solili real estate platform, at the end of 2020, Puebla has an inventory of industrial buildings of 24 million 290 thousand 212 square feet of which there are one million 148 thousand 951 square feet vacancies in its three corridors: Autopista México-Puebla ; Huejotzingo and Puebla-Tlaxcala.

At the end of December 2020, the indicators of the Puebla industrial market remained stable. Inventory, vacancy, prices and construction were at the same levels compared to the previous quarter.

The start of construction of a new project of 17 thousand square meters corresponding to a new class A warehouse in the Finsa Puebla industrial park in the Mexico-Puebla highway corridor was identified.

The developers continue to bet on the market, foreseeing that the logistics industry could be one of those that will arrive soon or the reactivation that the automotive manufacturing industry will have, on which Puebla depends a lot, with the entry into force of the T-MEC.
