Inmobiliare | November 14, 2022 |

The BNKR-Bunker Arquitectura office presented the fifth proposal of what will be the building program for the new Polyforum Tower, conceived in 48 levels designed for mixed uses and whose objective will be to generate funds to restore and preserve the Polyforum Siqueiros.

The first four levels will be used for the installation of shops. Levels five through thirty-four will be used as offices and the rest will be rented as housing (apartment and suites) and a hotel.

The design of the new tower seeks to guarantee the enjoyment of the cultural venue, while recovering the availability of public space for the community and includes a public plaza with green areas and reflecting pools.

The construction contemplates a total of 134 thousand 697.27 square meters, divided into: 48 levels above the sidewalk level for mixed uses, with a height of 197.90 meters and 11 basements below the sidewalk level for the lobby, parking lots and pump room, whose depth will be 38.50 meters.

The Polyforum Tower underwent a Neighborhood Consultation, which came into force in 2019, an instrument that is used as a survey to find out the opinion of the inhabitants and users of the area of influence on the impacts generated and how to address them.

The consultation was carried out from November 7 to 13 in fixed modules, and from November 29 to December 6 the survey will be carried out. The official document was published in the Mexico City Gazette on November 6, 2022.

It should be noted that Esteban Suárez, grandson of Manuel Suárez, owner of the Polyforum Siqueiros, is the founder of the studio in charge of this project. Since the Siqueiros artistic and cultural complex is private property, its administration will depend entirely on the heir family.

However, the work is forced to protect the work of muralist David Alfaro Siqueiros and the site, which is currently in deterioration.

Finally, the CDMX Government will support and regulate the construction of the Polyforum Tower and the restoration of the cultural property, since it is an Artistic Monument and Cultural Heritage of the nation.
