Sustainable city project launched in Cancun

The Italian architecture firm Stefano Boeri Archittetti, presented the Cancun Smart Forest City project, a new forest city in Mexico, which will occupy an area of 557 hectares to house 130 thousand inhabitants; In addition, it aims to serve as a model for sustainable and ecological development.
The city is designed to be self-sufficient, with water treatment plants, food production and greenhouses; as well as innovation paths, navigable channels and mobility poles.
The Cancun Smart Forest City design includes a ring of photovoltaic panels and a water channel that connects to the sea through an underground system; which allows to irrigate the city in a sustainable way.
