
Prolec GE, a joint investment between GE and in the United States, invests 85 million dollars in a transformer production line in Apodaca, Monterrey.
With this investment, Prolec GE will build a new production facility in the municipality of Apodaca, in Monterrey, which will double its annual production capacity. Much of the production of this new line will be used to serve our customers in the United States to help us improve the resilience, efficiency and reliability of their electrical network, said Ricardo Suárez, general director of Prolec GE.

To streamline the supply chain, the new Prolec GE warehouse will be located in the municipality of Apodaca, very close to its current plant. Construction of the ship will begin next year, and is expected to be completed in June 2025.
With this announcement, Prolec GE increases its investment commitment to its customers in North America to more than $145 million.
At the beginning of this year, the company announced another investment to manufacture three-phase pedestal-type transformers in the United States to serve customers in the industrial and renewable market, adding a production line of about 46,500 square meters, in its plant located in Shreveport, Louisiana.

In addition, additional adaptations are being made to the plant's infrastructure to increase the capacity of its traditional voltage regulators and network-type transformers, to meet customer needs.
Prolec GE is also investing in some improvements to its power transformer processes with the aim of increasing their performance and decreasing their cycle times.
