The Amiti (Mexican Association of the Information Technology Industry) wants to bring information technologies to manufacturing in Mexico. This is the main objective of Jorge Castilla, who was elected director for the next two years of this association that brings together the main IT companies operating in the country.

In an interview, a few days after he assumed the presidency of Amiti, Castilla said that it must be taken into account that Mexico is a manufacturing country, so the association must take advantage of the opportunity represented by being able to integrate the technologies that are part of the Industry 4.0 and which, in general, include cloud computing, automation and the internet of things, additive manufacturing or 3D printing, cybersecurity, augmented reality and artificial intelligence, in this sector.

“It seems to me that the socioeconomic conditions give us a unique space and we have to take advantage of that space and I believe that this is part of the role that Amiti should have. If we are able to take and bring the concepts and technologies of Industry 4.0 so that they are applied in conjunction with a highly competitive and technified workforce that we have, I believe that we can uncover a lot of value in the country ”, said Castilla, who He is also the director of Accenture Mexico.

Automobiles, data processing machines and units, and vehicle spare parts are the items that generate the highest international sales for Mexico, since they account for more than half of Mexican foreign trade, which in 2020 reached a total of 353,000 million dollars, according to the Data México platform.

In our country, one of the states in which there is a greater presence of manufacturing activity is Nuevo León, which has an offer of industrial spaces with high quality standards around the metropolitan area of Monterrey, get to know them by entering here.
