The rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure is driving a new wave of investment in the global energy industry, and Mexico is emerging as a key component of Panasonic's strategy to meet this demand.

During its Investors Day held on June 8 in Tokyo, Panasonic Group announced an investment of 350 billion yen, equivalent to approximately US$2 billion, to expand its manufacturing capacity for batteries and energy storage systems related to the development of AI data centers.

As part of this plan, the Japanese company identified Mexico as its regional hub for the production of battery modules for data center applications. The strategy includes expanding its manufacturing capacity in the country by commissioning new facilities over the next few years.
