Nuevo León leads in foreign investment in 2Q 2022

Governor Samuel García revealed that Nuevo León is first in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), surpassing Mexico City in percentage of participation and value, during the second quarter of the year.

During an official event, García Sepúlveda stated that growth must be reflected in innovative legal actions that generate equality and benefits for vulnerable groups, such as the elderly.

In data from the federal Ministry of Economy, Nuevo León ranked first in attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) during the second quarter of the year with a participation of 20.1 percent, with a value of 1,448.4 million dollars, leaving behind to CdMx with 15.1 percent (one thousand 086.3 million dollars); Jalisco with 7.6 percent (547.6 million dollars); State of Mexico, 7.1 percent (508.5 million dollars); and Guanajuato, 5.7 percent (411.1 million dollars).

While the accumulated to the first half of the year (January-June) of foreign investment in Nuevo León amounts to two thousand 661.3 million dollars.

The preliminary data was released by the federal Ministry of Economy, being 104 percent higher than the preliminary data for the first half of 2021 when it reached 1,300.4 million dollars.
