
With 101 investments and with support of more than $2 billion pesos to the owners of small and medium-sized companies (SMEs), Nuevo León stood out economically during 2022 in foreign direct investment and support for SMEs.
As of October 2022, 101 investments have been confirmed, of which 53 are new investments and 48 are expansions of companies that already operate in the entity.
These global firms belong to the manufacturing, automotive, logistics, furniture and information technology sectors, and represent 4 thousand 364 million dollars.

Regarding their origin, 47 projects stand out mainly in the United States; in China 22; in South Korea 6; in Germany 4; and in Denmark 3.
The Secretary of Economy of Nuevo León, Iván Rivas highlighted the jobs generated by these investments.
"The arrival and expansion of these companies have a positive impact on the lives of Nuevo Leon families, as they will help create 50,091 jobs," said Rivas.
Likewise, the Secretary of Economy highlighted the support for SMEs, mentioning that through the Impulso Nuevo León program $2,989 million pesos were lent to 1,256 companies in soft loans; while 4 thousand 98 microcredits were given to entrepreneurs for a total amount of $30.2 million pesos.

He added that the greatest effort came through the Competitive SMEs initiative, which consists of 120 hours of training and 20 hours of mentoring for 992 affiliated businessmen so that they triple their sales.
While through the Hecho en Nuevo León program, focused on entrepreneurs and micro-businesses, 51 courses have been taught to 3,110 program participants.
“This is the largest effort to support small and medium-sized business owners that a state has ever made,” added the official.
