The manufacturer of molded, injected and extruded rubber parts, Hultek, is promoting the construction of a new manufacturing plant in the municipality of García, Nuevo León.

Its new headquarters seeks to concentrate the manufacturing of the 3 plants that operate in the state and will have the highest technology for the production of rubber parts or products for the electrical appliance, automobile, electrical and construction industries.

The factory is of more than 9 thousand square meters, in a first stage will have 70 manufacturing machines, automation of production lines, testing laboratory, loading and logistics center, among other facilities.

"The supply of rubber parts is one of the parts of the supply chain that global companies look for in Mexico, however, the sector is not as developed as others of similar importance, such as tooling or plastic injection ”Said Carlos González, CEO of Hultek.

He indicated that according to the National Chamber of the Rubber Industry, 60% of the economic units in the sector are microenterprises, while the largest companies limit their activities to the manufacture of tires. For this reason, some companies have problems locating a national supplier of specialized rubber and rubber parts, González said.

Hultek with 40 years of experience manufactures more than 60 million pieces of rubber each year and specializes in custom products ranging from washers, grommets and vibration isolators, to profiles, gaskets and rubber hoses, generating about 200 jobs in the state.

González acknowledged that, although the context of regionalization of supply has helped the growth of the company, there are also some challenges that the rubber and transformation industry faces with the so-called new reality.
