With the visit of Governor Tere Jiménez to NISSAN in Japan, the manufacturer's investment plans in Aguascalientes were reaffirmed, where 700 million dollars are invested to expand production capacities in the state from 2022 to 2025.

The Japanese firm also reiterated its foray into the production of vehicles with new technologies in this entity, specifically the E-Power models that include an electrified hybrid engine.

It should be remembered that the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance recently announced as one of its projects in Latin America the production of a new Renault model in plants located in Mexico, the first model of the brand to be manufactured in Mexico in 20 years.

To this could be added the incorporation of E-Power models such as the Nissan Kicks to the Nissan A1 plant, which is already in the domestic market imported from Japan.

The production of these E-Power and Renault models in Aguascalientes means that the investment (announced by Nissan at its A1 plant in May 2022) is focused on improving the facilities, re-equipping and carrying out important developments in terms of automation, as well as the preparation and training of collaborators.

"Mexico plays an important role in Nissan's global operations, both as one of the main markets for the sale of vehicles and as an export center for dozens of markets around the world," said Jérémie Papin, chairman of Nissan Americas in 2022.
